God’s Vessel Ministries under the leadership of Melissa Hayward-Tucker created BLFABT workshops for inner-city urban youth. 

• Our goal:  To assist students in learning more about themselves, their abilities, & their interests.

• Outcomes: To bring out the very best, to uplift self-esteem & encourage, to gain self-confidence, & enhance the quality of life skills.

• Overall Objective:  The leadership workshops use's interactive exercises that help students embrace honesty, and a willingness to try and change their negative behavior patterns for positive.

In addition students learn to face personal struggles in order to begin a process of change. Finally our desire is that each student will come away with the determination to walk intuitively in their God given gifts.

Students learn the following curricula's in:

• Youth leadership,
• How to maximize their personal strengths,
• Character development and building,
• How to have effective and healthy relationships (with friends and family members),
• Learning how to have self-control, self-respect,
• Educate and bring awareness about Inner-city Gangs,
• Troubleshoot problem-solving approaches,
• Decision-making strategies and begin to explore career choices and options for a better tomorrow.

God’s Vessel  brings awareness to our youth about drugs and alcohol abuse running rapid in our community. We  empower youth on how to recover from addiction & Inner-City Gang Violence.  We inspire individuals by BUILDING LEADERS for a better tomorrow to expand their learning opportunities that will contribute to the reducing of drug use and gang violence, while increasing the safety of our students after hours.  We instill in its participants a sense of belonging and responsibility; we encourage values and bring families and communities as a whole together, we teach students the value of service, one student, and one parent at a time. We help students become leaders and critical stakeholders of their schools and communities.

 We believe it takes a village to raise a child, only through the love and compassion to see others grow.
